Edinburgh's Hogmanay: Torchlight Procession
About This Event
A River of Fire Lighting Up the Capital
Edinburgh's legendary Hogmanay celebrations launch in breathtaking style with the world-famous Torchlight Procession. Tens of thousands of participants gather on a crisp December evening, each bearing a blazing wax torch to illuminate a spectacular river of fire winding through the historic heart of the city.
Pipes, Drums & Shetland Vikings
Leading the grand march are the Up Helly Aa Jarl Squad from Shetland in full Norse armor, axes, and reindeer-skin cloaks, flanked by stirring massed pipe bands and fiery pyrotechnic performers. As the parade concludes in Holyrood Park, a climactic fireworks display and live music festival send spirits soaring for the new year ahead.
Charitable Giving & Torch Purchases
A portion of every torch sale supports Scottish homelessness and youth charities, making participation as meaningful as it is visually unforgettable.
